Abstract Photos

Writer's picture: Nya JonesNya Jones

Blurred views

A rule of photography I used in Be Creative with Colour, because all aspects of the photo are the same colour, it creates this depth and interesting shading in the photo.

A principle of design used is Unity as everything in the photo is the same size and shape, although because of the angle they appear different sizes.

An element of art seen is value, as all shades of the photo are a variation of pink until it heads completely into black

Starry Sky

A rule of photography mentioned is avoid the middle as the focus of the photo is placed more in the left top corner of the frame

An element of art is value, the way everything is dark apart from the blurred lights creates a unique light to dark effect

A principal of design used is repetition. The constant similarity between the shape of each light creates an almost illusion effect

Stuck In Time

Rule of Photography, Framing. The way the photo is framed adds a cool vibe to the photo while also creating something more to look at and adjust to

Principle of Design, Balance. How I shot the photo makes it feel full and complete, like nothing is missing

Element of Art, Texture. The way the light reflects on the backdrop shows the paper-like texture well against the more sleek stool and light fixture

Light of Life

Rule of Photography, Fill the frame. The lack of space in the photo creates an interesting look and directs your eye to the subject

Principle of Design, Emphasis. How close the subject is to the frame reveals a lot more detail then what is seen from further away

Element of Art, Space. There isn’t much background in the photo as the subject takes up most of the frame creating a unique look

Veil of Red

Rule of Photography, Depth. Because of how I shot the photo it created a look with a lot of dimension and depth

Element of Art, Texture. The close up of the tinsel on the tree revealed a ton of texture that may not be noticed by the naked eye and that again the rough pieces of the tree creates a fun photo to look at

Principle of design, Pattern and Repetition. The same shape of the needles on the tree and the pretty design on the tinsel makes an interesting design to occupy yourself with
